Terms of Use

These terms apply when you download or use Dikto on Windows or Android.

1. What Dikto is

Dikto is an app that converts speech into text in Macedonian and English. It uses ElevenLabs for transcription through an API key you provide. By creating an account, downloading, or using the app, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

2. Free app and ElevenLabs costs

Dikto is free to use and download. To dictate, you need your own ElevenLabs API key. Your ElevenLabs account, any available free tier, and any charges are separate from Dikto.

You are responsible for usage and charges on your ElevenLabs account under its pricing and Terms of Use. Dikto does not bill on behalf of ElevenLabs and cannot refund its charges.

3. Your Dikto account

• Each user may have one personal account.
• You provide accurate information and keep your password secure.
• You do not share the account in a way that compromises security or bypasses restrictions.

We may restrict or terminate an account for abuse, attempts to disrupt the service, unlawful use, or a serious breach of these terms. When reasonable, we will first give notice and an opportunity to correct the problem.

4. Reasonable and lawful use

You use Dikto only for lawful purposes and only with audio and content you have the right to process. You must not use the app to violate another person's privacy, rights, or safety, or to intentionally overload, disrupt, or bypass safeguards of Dikto, Supabase, or ElevenLabs.

You decide what to dictate and where to insert the text. Review the finished text before sending it, especially for medical, legal, financial, or other sensitive content.

5. Availability and warranties

Dikto is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that transcription will always be accurate, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that it will suit every particular purpose. Operation also depends on your device, internet connection, ElevenLabs, and other system services.

We may fix, change, or discontinue features for security, maintenance, or product development. We will aim to announce important changes in a timely manner.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dikto is not liable for indirect loss, lost data, lost profit, inaccurate transcription, interruption of a third-party service, or charges on your ElevenLabs account. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

7. Future Premium service

We may offer a Premium service in the future that does not require your own API key. If launched, separate terms, pricing, and rules will be shown before you choose it. These terms do not promise a date, price, or specific Premium features.

8. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will publish the new version here and update the date above. Continuing to use the app after changes take effect means you accept them. If you do not agree, stop using Dikto and delete your account at /account.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of North Macedonia. We will first try to resolve disputes by direct agreement; if that is not possible, the courts of North Macedonia have jurisdiction unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
